How much does cataract surgery cost?

The price of a cataract treatment in Northern Ireland is £2,450 (sterling) per eye. The HSE currently reimburse up to €1,723 (Euro). They do not reimburse travel or any other type of cost.

There are no costs to patients for using Trasna’s service.

How does it work?

All patients need is a referral letter from their GP and they can arrange a consultation. The treatment is typically done within two weeks of that consultation. 

The Consultation is £160 which is also reimbursed by the HSE.
